Mortal Engines is an upcoming post-apocalyptic adventure film directed by Christian Rivers and with the screenplay written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 14, 2018.

It is based on the novel of the same name by Philip Reeve. Mortal Engines is the first of four novels in Philip Reeve's quartet of the same name. The book focuses on a futuristic, steampunk version of London, now a giant machine striving to survive on a world running out of resources. The book has won a Nestlé Smarties Book Prize and was shortlisted for the 2002 Whitbread Award.

The Meg is an American science fiction action horror film directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dean Georgaris, Jon and Erich Hoeber.

In the film, set 200 miles off the Chinese coast a deep sea submarine is attacked by a Megalodon shark, thought to be extinct.

With the ship disabled at the bottom of the sea, a rescue diver and oceanographer must quickly work to rescue the crew.

It is based on the 1997 science fiction book Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten. The film stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, and Cliff Curtis.

The film will be released by Warner Bros. in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D on August 10, 2018.

It is a sequel to the 2015 film Jurassic World and is the fifth installment in the Jurassic Park film series. Derek Connolly and Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow both return as writers, with J. A. Bayona as the director. It will be produced by Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley, and Belén Atienza. Trevorrow and original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg are executive producers. Filming took place from February to July of 2017. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and B. D. Wong will reprise their roles from the preceding movie Jurassic World and are joined by newcomers Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, and James Cromwell; additionally, Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original film and its 1997 sequel. Universal Pictures has scheduled the film for release in the United States on June 22, 2018.

The film is an adaptation of Tianxia Bachang's 2006 best-selling novel Ghost Blows Out the Light. Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe was released in China on September 30, 2015.
